Our First Family Vacation

NEBRASKA

We went on our first family vacation to Nebraska! There were friends and family that have never seen Camden before so we made the trip to see them! It's only a 6 hour drive but we were nervous with how well Camden would do. He did great! We left in the evening time after his regular bedtime routine and he slept almost the whole way there. I did have to feed him once but it was no big deal! We saw lots of people and went lots of places. This was a huge week for Camden with many firsts!

• First TOOTH! (This was a great vacation but very hard with many sleepless nights. Camden didn't handle the pain very well and he woke up at least 5 times or more screaming and crying even with medicine. Even during the day for two or three days he wasn't himself and Carl and I took turns trying to soothe him the best way we knew how. It was a very tough week. Once his tooth actually poked through the gums he felt much better.)




• His first time to roll over from back to belly. He's been able to roll over from his tummy to his back, but not the other way around. And he's SO close to sitting up all by himself. I think in another week or two he'll be sitting up like a big boy!




• His first word... MAMA!!!!!! Yes, he really does say MAMA!!!! My mom didn't believe me but it's true! Several times through out the trip Camden said, MAMA or MAMAMAMA. My heart just melted!!! Carl's really jumping in there trying to repeat DADA as many times as he can in hopes it'll be said!




• His first trip to the ZOO! Camden loved it and enjoyed seeing all the animals. We had a funny yet scary experience with the Gorillas! Just as I went to take a picture of one that was walking up to us really close, he pounded his chest and jumped right into the glass window where we were standing! Camden and I both jumped! Here's a picture of the big guy! I'll post more pictures of our zoo experience!!
