Wow, Camden just amazes me everyday! I didn't want to say anything about this until I knew for sure that this was something that would continue to be consistent, but I can now say that Camden is going poo-poo in the potty!!!!!!!!!!
We can't take any credit for this either. This was totally his doing! I never imagined he'd be ready for this on his own. I guess it's true what they say, when they're ready, they're ready! God is really looking our for us I believe knowing baby two is on the way with plenty more diapers to come!
Okay, so here's how it started....
One evening Camden ran into the living room and said "I Poo." Carl and I looked at each other puzzled because we've never heard him say that before. I suppose we've asked him if he's pooped in his diaper several times before and maybe that's how he caught on. Poo also can be mistaken for Pool and he had gone swimming with his Aunt Betty that day too. Anyways, I kind of locked it in the back of my mind and we continued going on with his bath. While running the bath water I undressed him, took off his diaper, and as I was adding in his bubbles I saw him run out into the hallway standing straight and stiff and grunting. So, out I grabbed my sister's old baby potty from the closet, sat him down and he pooped!!!!! I was so proud! I screamed for Carl and of course we made a huge deal about it and showed him what he did! Carl of course made me promise not to take pictures as badly as I wanted to!! Gross I know, but I'm a proud mama! I thought to myself, this was a huge coincidence and it'll probably never happen again for quite some time.
The next day or two we were at Aunt Betty's and he said it again. This time, I knew it's exactly what he meant. So, we scurried to the bathroom and sat him on the potty. He tried really hard to push it out, but no luck. Shortly after we put his diaper back on and he ran around a bit he pooped so that was exactly what he wanted to tell us! He's done this 3 more times since at home and we've been completely successful! He'll say, "I poo" and we'll take him to the bathroom with his little book and out it comes! We make a big deal about showing him how good he did and putting it in the big potty together and he LOVES to flush the toilet! As it goes down he waves to it and says, "Bye Bye!" He even likes to put the toilet seat and lid down all by himself and very gently!! :) I just can't believe how wonderful this has worked out and completely on his own!!!
