Chesleigh is doing great! Since I'm so behind on my blogging, please look at the previous blogs that I've been catching up on all day long!!
I never really said much about the birth. So, for my sake let me take a few moments to comment. The birth itself was so easy! I know I had a c-section and going into this I thought it would be so rough, but I was shocked at how much easier just going straight into surgery was and not having to labor first like I did with Camden. After they gave me my spinal in the OR immediately I was numb from the waist down and couldn't believe how quickly it all happened from there. Within minutes Carl came in the room and they said they were almost done! I couldn't believe she was feet first, what a surprise! When they said, "It's a girl" I know they probably thought I was some crazy woman who couldn't control herself. I was just so shocked! There's something to be said about not finding out the sex of your baby and then it being something completely different than you already have! It was hard for us to wrap our minds around! I was a blubbering mess crying and laughing all at the same time! Carl was in complete shock! The days following her birth went beautifully. I moved around more easily than I did with Camden's post delivery and felt pretty good. By the second week of being home I felt wonderful! I made a mistake and did too much one day and really paid for it the next but other than that it went better than expected.
Chesleigh is such a good baby! She eats and sleeps well! The nurses and goes right back to sleep at night. She's finally opening her eyes more through out the day and making great eye contact. Right now her eyes look blue, but I'm sure they'll change to be brown like ours. She lets out a tiny little squeal when she needs some attention but usually I'm the one waking her up to eat! The other night she slept 6 hours straight at night and I was so out of it otherwise I would have woke her up sooner to eat! The first few weeks were a challenge because the dr. didn't want her going longer than 2-3 hours at a time without eating and it was hard to wake her up and keep her focused on nursing! Now she can go up to 5 hours in between if she wants to, but it just seems like so long to me! I try going no more than 4 at a time.
Camden is doing great with her as well. He loves looking at her in the bassinet and talking to her. He gives her sweet kisses on the head and loves her so much already. He helps with bath time and he's into her diaper changing as well. Ha,ha. Let me just say that twice now he's gotten into the A & D ointment for her bottom and has rubbed it on his body, face, and hair. Does anyone realize how hard it is to get that out of hair??!!! His hair looked greasy for days!!!!!
Yes, life for us is crazy but wonderful. We are loving every minute of our life and our newest addition to the family. Sweet, sweet, sweet is all I can say! I'll post more when I can!! Enjoy the pictures!
