1 Month

My how she's growing!

One Month Stats: 11 lbs. 8 oz. and in the 97th percentile for her weight! Funny, a week and a half later I took her back into the dr. and she was already 12 lbs. 12 oz!!! WOW!

Chesleigh is doing wonderful! She is such a good baby and only gets up once during the night! I was having to wake her to eat, but obviously she is getting plenty of nourishment so I decided to let her go as long as she wanted in the middle of the night! Her routine usually works out eating between 9:00-10:00 pm and waking up between 3:30 and 4:00 am. She nurses really well around 7 or 8 in the morning and is asleep again for another few hours!

My days at home are so wonderful with Chesleigh and Camden. I love being with them and soaking up every minute of chaos!! The other night Camden was sitting up to the table to eat and was just talking away and meanwhile I had Chesleigh sitting up on the table and her eyes were just fixed to him. The next thing I see is Chesleigh's entire facial expression change and smile so much her mouth was wide open. She really could see Camden and at that moment seeing her so happy while watching her brother it completely melted my heart. I'm so blessed that God made me their mother. How lucky am I?!! Those moments I want to hold onto forever.

Camden is such a big helper with bath time and diaper changes. And he's so funny with her too! We both could hear her dirty her diaper and I looked at Camden, then he looked at me and said, "Mama, shoo shoo!" And waved his hand back and forth in front of his nose! Too cute! I laughed so hard! He always wants to help bring me her "pass" aka pacifier. He's also very intrigued by her baby swing. Sometimes he just wants to sit in front of it and watch her swing back and forth while talking to her. Okay, and maybe sometimes he likes to take her socks off and push the swing a little harder than it should be going!! Hey, he's only 2 people!! Almost... :)!!

Also, not from these pictures can you tell (I'll post more later, I'm always so behind!) I have some really good pics of her with her in the light and you can see how blue her eyes are! Carl and I both have brown eyes and Camden has very black eyes. Never did I think I would have a blue eyed little girl! Dr. says that if her eyes show no spots or signs of turning brown by the time she's two months old then more than likely they'll stay blue. She said if there is a strong gene on either side of the family then it's rare, but possible. Too cool!!!
Some of you may know that Chesleigh has an umbilical hernia. It's doubled in size in the last two weeks. It continues to grow and grow. Originally the dr. said that it could correct itself within the first year of her life when her muscles get stronger, but now that it's growing so rapidly more than likely she'll need surgery. The dr. said that the surgeon won't even look at her until she's at least 6 months old but in the mean time I have to sit back and watch this thing grow! It looks so bad, poor baby! It doesn't hurt her thank goodness but we're all keeping a close eye on it. I'm getting a second opinion in the mean time to be sure we have to wait until she's 6 months old. Not because I want to rush into surgery of course, but because we're waiting but we can't avoid the inevitable. It will get bigger and bigger especially the rate at which it's grown from birth until now. My uncle is an anesthesiologist and he's going to be talking to a pediatric surgeon this week to get his opinion.
