Chesleigh's "Tangled" Birthday Party!

When I thought about Chesleigh's 2nd birthday I knew from the beginning it was going to be "Tangled" themed.  She LOVES this movie.  She quotes it, sings the songs and watches it all the time.  I really wanted to dive into a fun party for her since I can go pretty girly with it for a change!  I started looking online at ideas and found some pretty cool tower pictures.  So, Camden and I went shopping just us and shopped for birthday party supplies for Chesleigh's special day.  He was really into it too because he loves the movie as well.  When we started looking for the magic flower (aka an orange lily) we were giggling at all the things in the store that we knew would go with the party.  Camden was a huge help!  He even found a satchel like Flynn Ryder's!  We found diamonds in the wedding section for him to carry in his satchel and for decoration.  We got a ton of silk flowers to place on the cupcakes, tin pails for fruit and baskets and you name it.  It was an awesome Hobby Lobby shopping trip.

I spent hours and hours on Rapunzel's tower.  Over a few weeks time I got it done though.  That was my biggest task because I didn't work on it until the kids were in bed or some on the weekend.  After Christmas too her birthday just came so fast.  There was a lot of painting, and a lot of drying time.  But finally it was complete.  Then I just had to keep my fingers crossed that it would stay in one piece until the party day!  I invited lots of little girls so Chesleigh could have lots of play buddies at her party.  We had Rapunzel's favorite soup "Hazelnut Squash."  I went to three different stores before I finally found a large Butternut Squash.  I found a good recipe online at Disney and I took on this task the night before to bake the butternut squash and parsnips.  I never did find hazelnuts in season, so we opted for oven roasted walnuts instead.  I baked almost 40 cupcakes and made the soup the night before along with the decorating.  I felt like I couldn't do much until the night before which by the way I didn't get off work until 5:00 that evening, went to several stores to find the hazelnuts and never did and got home around 7:00 that evening.  Carl thankfully chipped in and helped me so much!  Daddy wanted his little girl to have the best birthday party!  We were up until 2:00 in the morning decorating.  Then up early the next morning to get everything else prepared.  Carl even helped me braid an 18 ft. braid to resemble Rapunzel's hair for the front door.  What a guy!!  And thank you SO much to Aunt Betty for the hours spent at your house using your awesome cricket cut out machine!  We made the coolest banner with Chesleigh's name on it, it turned out great!  And thank you Mom for helping me get all the balloons and getting the food set up!  I couldn't have done it without everyone's help!  It was all worth it for a great 2nd birthday party for miss Chesleigh Abigail.

Silk flowers, and chocolate rocks complete the bottom of the tower!

Thanks Mom for helping me wash the fruit and frost the cupcakes!

Goodies bags/totes for the girls with long clip in braids, jewelry and candy!

Soup Bar complete with walnuts, bacon bits and cheese!  YUM!

 The Magic Flower symbol

 LOVED her banner!
These were plain wooden flowers until Camden and I got ahold of them!  He helped me paint and decorate them with stickers!
