Dr. Visit Update 1/16/08

I had another Dr.'s visit that went great. The baby's heart rate was 144, very strong and healthy! I spoke to the Dr. about some lower abdominal pains I've been experiencing these last few days and he said it's just my body making extra room for the baby. He said that there's going to be a lot of stretching going on from here on out and unfortunately it's going to get worse before it gets better. If feels like someone stabbing me really quick really down low in my lower abdomen. He also said that I'll feel pressure and more pain with my pelvic bone spreading to prepare for delivery. He measured my belly and it was 34 cm. which is 2 more than where I should be as I'm only 32 weeks along. He said as of right now they give or take a cm. or two, but if at my next visit I'm still measuring larger, than he'd order an ultrasound to be done to see how big the baby is. No worries now though! The baby at this point weighs usually around 4 pounds.

He's so active! The other night I was sitting on the couch covered up with a little throw blanket and I promise you, he either kicked me or punched me so hard I saw the blanket move! It hurt and brought tears to my eyes which has never happened before so he's a strong boy that's for sure! I love being able to just feel and watch my belly roll. I asked the doctor if he could tell for sure if he was faced head down yet or not, and he tried poking around on my belly to see, but said that he couldn't tell for sure. Usually by the eighth month the baby's head IS facing down, but I just wanted to know for sure if what I was feeling was an arm or a foot!
