36 week Dr. Visit Update

I went to my appt. yesterday and they did a swap test for the B strep skin condition. Just a regular test they do at this point in the game. She said she’ll check me next week (37 weeks) to see if I’m dilated and then she wants to order ANOTHER ultrasound at 38 weeks! This was the first time I’ve seen her since her own maternity leave with her twin girls and she came in the room and said, “My, you’re going to have a big baby!” Then I asked her what she thought…

She said that if at 38 weeks he’s measuring what they feel is almost too big, they’ll schedule a C-Section at 39 weeks especially if he’s still not in the head down position. I voiced my concerns about how I want to avoid having a C-Section if at all possible and she said that depending on his weight, she’ll give us her opinion and if I wanted to try to deliver him vaginally I could probably try (as long as he was head down) but that she’s seen in many instances where the woman end up having a c-section anyways. Then another scenario, if at 38 weeks his weight is manageable then she’d go ahead and have me scheduled to be induced at 39 weeks. So… the best case scenario I believe is if this baby comes on his own before then! I’m hoping mine will go something like Margaret’s and he’ll be a few weeks early since he’s plenty big but we’ll see. My doctor looks ridiculously great by the way. You’d never know she just had twins!!!!

So, I'll be doing lots of walking and um, you know, they say lots of love making can't hurt either! Hey, Carl's not complaining! Okay, that's probably way too much information and more than any of you wanted to know. I just want to have this baby already! :) Everyone have a very Happy Valentine's Day...
